Watford hosts Chelsea

Watford hosts Chelsea at the Vicarage Road in a match from the 11th round of the Premier League. The Hornets are at the bottom of the table and the season looks very difficult for them at the moment. Can they take a positive result against Chelsea? We are going to talk about this in our English Premier League predictions.

Right now Watford remain the only team in the Premier League without a win. They have five draws and five losses in their matches so far. The fact that the club decided to sack Javi Gracia and replace him with Quique Sanchez Flores is not helping Watford a lot so far.

In their last three games in the Premier League Watford are not winning, but at least they are not losing, too. Right now the Hornets are in a run of three consecutive draws, recorded against Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth.

On Tuesday Watford visited Everton in a game from the 1/8-finals of the League Cup, suffering a 0-2 defeat and leaving the competition. But of course, right now the League Cup is not a priority for the club.

Chelsea are on the rise. They didn’t start the season in the best way possible, but right now the Blues are 4th in the league standings with 20 points. They are also enjoying a strong run of four consecutive wins in the Premier League. In the previous round Frank Lampard’s boys faced Burnley at the Turf Moor and scored four goals for a 4-2 win. The big hero of the day was Christian Pulisic, who scored a hattrick. Meanwhile Willian added one more.

During the week Chelsea suffered a bit of negative emotion, also being kicked out of the League Cup after a 1-2 defeat at home against Manchester United. Michy Batshuayi managed to score for the Blues, but United put the hosts down after a brace from Marcus Rashford. In this game Frank Lampard didn’t play his strongest line-up as it was expected.

It’s our English Premier League predictions for the game between Watford and Chelsea on Saturday. The Hornets are pure underdogs here, but they also need points, don’t forget that.
