Van Dijk will be in Liverpool for the derby
Virginie Van Dijk, the most expensive defender in football history, is likely to debut for Liverpool in the FA Cup derby against Everton, Reuters reports. His papers are now settled after the Southampton transfer of £ 75m and he is available to manager Juergen Klop.
Van Dyke is likely to start the match on the bench, while Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane are in question. The reason is that they will be present at the African player’s ceremony of the year in the afternoon, and they are still not sure when they will return. Liverpool, however, has provided them with a private jet.
“We play two of Africa’s top three footballers, so we have to honor their special day, the only difference between them and our other players is that we will be sleeping in a hotel and they’re in a plane, said the Liverpool manager before the Merseyside derby.
