The Italian federation negotiates with Mancini

The Italian Football Federation has held talks with Roberto Mancini about the opportunity to take on the post of national team coach. 53-year-old Manchini, coach of Manchester City and Inter, is among the options for coach of Italy. The other candidates are Antonio Conte, Carlo Ancelotti and Claudio Ranieri. The federation said they first spoke to Mancini on the phone and then took advantage of the fact that he was in Rome and had a meeting last night.

The Adzurs were eliminated on the barrage from Sweden and for the first time since 1958 they will not participate in the World Cup. Mancini has won three consecutive Serie A titles with Inter, the Football Association Cup with Manchester City, the Cup of Turkey with Galatasaray and four times the Italian Cup with Inter, Lazio and Fiorentina.
