Southampton hosts Norwich City

Southampton hosts Norwich City at the St. Mary’s Stadium in a game from the 15th round of the Premier League. These two teams are next to each other in the standings, so we expect a competitive clash in our English Premier League predictions for today.

During the weekend Southampton celebrated their just third win for the season, when they hosted Watford at home. Because of this now the Saints are 18th in the league with 12 points, but still in the relegation zone. They are just 2 points behind the 17th Everton, though.

Against Watford Southampton achieved a win they really needed. Ralph Hassenhutl’s boys hosted the Hornets and managed to beat them with 2-1.  Until the 78th minute Watford were ahead in the result, but the hosts turned the game around with goals from Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse.

This means that now Southampton are unbeaten in their last two matches in the league, which is a good path to follow. Against Norwich City they will try to record a second consecutive win, which would be great for them.

Norwich City are also having a win and a draw in their last two matches. Right now the Canaries are 19th in the standings with 11 points and a record of 3 wins, 2 draws and 9 losses. After their great win against Everton, they shared the points with Arsenal at the Carrow Road few days ago.

Teemo Pukki and Todd Cantwell were the players who managed to score against Arsenal. At halftime Norwich were even ahead in the result, but after the break Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his second goal in the game.

In our English Premier League predictions we expect to see the clash between two teams which need to win as many points as possible in order to survive. This is a guarantee that this game is going to be absolutely competitive. Southampton and Norwich City are here for the win, so it’s going to be interesting to watch them.
