Norrkoping – Hammarby

The 2017 season in the Swedish Allsvenskan is about to start after just a few days. At the Östgötaporten stadium Norrköping is hosting Hammarby.

Norrköping is currently one of the strongest sides in Swedish football. Last year they finished third in the league, winning a qualification for the Europa League. They finished just four points behind the champion Malmö FF and with the same amount of points as the 2nd AIK, so now they are once again one of the big favourites for the title.
As for Hammarby, this team didn’t play an important role in Swedish football last season, finishing 11th in the standings, winning 10 games, but losing 11.

It’s curious to note that Norrköping have one of the youngest managers in Swedish football at the moment.J ens Gustafsson is just 38-years old, but he’s already showing signs of excellent quality and bright future. We are about to see how he’s going to lead his squad this year, despite being so young and overally unexperienced.

Hammarby on the other hand are about to start the season with a new manager and even an younger one. Jakob Michelsen is just 36-years old and this is going to be his first season at the helm of Hammarby. He’s coming from Denmark and his last job was as a manager of the Dannish club SønderjyskE.

Everyone at Norrköping knows that the club will once again lead a difficult battle with Malmö FF, AIK and probably IFK Göteborg for the title in Allsvenskan. So this is why they will try to start the new campaign in the best way possible – with a win at home. As for Hammarby, this club is not regarded as a favourite for a high finish in the league, but who knows – maybe they wil surprise a lot of people?
