It’s going to be really interesting at the Anfield on Tuesday night, because Liverpool hosts Bayern Munich in a first Champions League 1/8-final between these two sides. Two of Europe’s greatest teams ever are meeting each other. Here are our winning soccer predictions for this clash, because it’s going to be very interesting indeed.

Liverpool will try to make another try to win the Champions League for a 6th time in their history. Last season the Reds reached the final of the competition, but suffered a defeat against Real Madrid in the big game for the trophy. Now they look even better than last year, so everyone at the Anfield is dreaming again for European glory.

But Liverpool were walking on a thin ice during the group stage of the tournament. The Reds were pretty close to finish 3rd in their group, but a decisive win against Napoli in the last round guaranteed them a place in the next phase.

In the Premier League Liverpool continue their fight for the title. The Reds are currently 2nd in the league, being behind the leader Manchester City, but also having a game in hand.

For Bayern Munich this is a decisive time of the season. Since the appointment of Niko Kovac as a manager of the team, Bayern are having some troubling times. The Bavarians are currently 2nd in the Bundesliga standings, trailing behind the leader Borussia Dortmund. Obviously Kovac is still looking for the right touch in Munich, but now he doesn’t have much time – he must prepare his team in the best way possible for the battle against Liverpool.

In the group stage Bayern did well and finished first, beating Ajax for the top position. But to be honest, they didn’t have much luck on the draw.
