First loss for Petev in Cyprus

The team led by Ivaylo Petev of Omonia (Nicosia) made his first loss under his leadership. This happened today in the visit of Apollo (Limassol) in a postponed match of the 2nd round. The hosts took the minimum 1: 0 and put an end to the series of 4 consecutive wins of their rival. Bulgarian goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov did not take part in the match because he was banned by the local federation because he was not part of Omonia at the beginning of the season when this game had to be played on a program.

The only goal in the match fell in the 28th minute, and his author was Ektor Justte. The guests finished the meeting in a reduced turn after Vilém Soares was sent off in the 74th minute.

After this success, Apollo came out in second place with 43 points and was 2 less than leader APOEL (Nicosia). Both teams have a smaller match than their rivals, facing up against each other on January 24th. Third is AEK (Larnaca) with 43 points as well. Omonia is in the 6th position with 32 points in its assets.
