Espanyol faces Granada

Espanyol faces Granada in a game from the third round of La Liga. Let’s preview this clash at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona in our La Liga predictions.

Espanyol started the new season in La Liga with a loss, being defeated by Sevilla in the opening round. In the next round Los Pericos visited Deportivo Alaves and won a point with a 0-0 draw. The Catalans are not enjoying their best start of the season, at least they did much better in Europa League.

David Gallego’s team successfully qualified for the Europa League group stage. Espanyol faced the Ukrainian side Zorya during the playoffs and eliminated their opponent after a win in Spain and a draw in Ukraine.

Just few days ago Los Pericos visited Zorya in Zaporozhye. The game ended with a 2-2 draw, which was enough for the Catalans to progress. Facundo Ferreyra and Matias Vargas scored for Espanyol at the Slavutych-Arena.

The newcomers in La Liga Granada started the season in the same way as Espanyol, winning one point from the first two rounds. In their first game the Nazaries made an exciting 4-4 draw during the visit to Villarreal, but in the second round Diego Martinez’ boys suffered a 0-1 defeat at home against Sevilla. Joan Jordan scored the only goal in the match, while Carlos Fernandez and Adrian Ramos’ inclusion from the bench didn’t help Granada to avoid the loss.

Espanyol’s manager David Gallego can’t use some of his players for this game. Iturraspe, Adria Pedrosa, Pablo Piatti and David Lopez are all injured.

Meanwhile Granada will be without Alex Martinez and Neider Lozano, who are also having injury problems.

That’s our La Liga predictions for the game between Espanyol and Granada on Sunday. Espanyol are having the advantage to play at home, but Granada scored four goals during their last away game against Villarreal.
