Crystal Palace – Liverpool

Crystal Palace welcomes Liverpool at the Selhurst Park in a game from the 10th round of the English Premier League.

Liverpool are one of the strong contenders of the championship this season and Jurgen Klopp’s team is already close enough to the top of the table. The Reds have the same ammount of points with Manchester City and Arsenal, but it’s only the goal difference that leaves them at third spot at the moment.

Crystal Palace on the other hand are performing just in the way everyone expects of them, holding a place in the middle of the table. The Londoners lost their last two games – against West Ham and Leicester, which tells us that they might be suffering from a dip of form before hosting Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp will be without the services of Belgian international Divock Origi, who is still recovering from an injury. Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez also remain sidelined for The Reds.

Crystal Palace will have to wait before knowing if Jason Puncheon could participate in the game. He will have a late fitness test. Jonathan Benteke, Scott Dann, Pape Souare and Loic Remy remain sidelined.

The rivalry between Liverpool and Crystal Palace was a curious one last season. Both teams managed to win once, but doing it away from home. In November Crystal Palace beat Liverpool with 2-1 at the Anfield, but in March The Reds did the same thing with the same result at the Selhurst Park. Let’s see if something similar is going to happen this season as well.

Liverpool are clearly the big favourite to win this game, but Crystal Palace is a good team who is able to get points from the big sharks in the league. They’ve proven that in the last few years, so be careful with this one.
