Chievo – Milan
Chievo hosts Milan in a game from the 8th round of the Italian Serie A and everything looks very equal between these two teams. They share the same ammount of points since the start of the campaign – 13, with Chievo being in front of Milan in the standing just because it’s better goal difference.
Both teams recorded wins in their last games, with Chievo winning 2-0 against Pescara away from home, while Milan managed to beat Sassuolo 4-3 in incredibly dramatic way at the San Siro.
Milan’s manager Vincenzo Montella will be without the services of Andrea Bertolacci, Matias Fernandez, Luca Antonelli and Ricardo Montolivo, who are all injured. The good news come from the condition of the central defender Cristian Zapata, who is healed from his last injury and is ready to play.
Chievo’s Rolando Maran is able to use his full squad for the game, with the only exception being Fabrizio Cacciatore, who is still recovering from a hamstring strain.
In the head-to-head records Milan have a serious advantage over The Flying Donkeys. The two teams have played 30 times against each other with Milan winning 21 of these games. Only twice Chievo have managed to record a victory, while seven times there was a draw. Last season Milan managed to win the game at San Siro with 1-0, while the game in Verona finished with a 0-0 draw.
Both teams are performing well in the Serie A so far, so we have every right to expect a competitive and interesting game at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in Verona. For Chievo and Milan a possible win could mean a place in the Champions League zone, although the leader and reigning champion Juventus remains untouchable at the top, which is barely surprising anyone who follows closely Italian football.
