Belgium – Panama

One of the favourites to win the World Cup Belgium faces the underdog and debutant Panama in a match from Group G of the FIFA World Cup in Russia and here are our vip soccer bets.

We are calling Belgium one of the favourites for the trophy and this is not just our idea. Many pundits are calling this team ‘a hidden favourite’, because of the talent and the quality which the Red Devils currently have. Roberto Martinez’ team is stacked with superstars and the whole Belgian nation awaits something big from these boys.

Just look at the Belgian squad for the World Cup and you will see why this team is looking so good on paper. They have world class players at every position and even on the bench. They also have a very good manager like Roberto Martinez, who made a great impression in the Premier League during his stints with Wigan and Everton. His right hand is the legendary Thierry Henry, who is a World Cup winner from 1998 and knows perfectly well what is the feeling to reach the final and win it.

Players like Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Dries Mertens, Kevin De Bruyne and Vincent Kompany are the backbone of this Belgian team. These are world class players, who play for top clubs. We can also add other well known names like Thibaut Courtois, Jan Verthongen, Moussa Dembele and Marouane Fellaini. You can see by yourself that it’s getting more and more impressive.

In 1986 the Red Devils made their best ever performance at the World Cup, reaching the 1/2-finals in Mexico. In 2014 in Brazil they reached the 1/4-finals, but they were beaten by Leo Messi’s Argentina after a very tight game.

Just as it was expected, Belgium didn’t have any problems to reach the World Cup. The Red Devils finished first in Group H of the qualifiers, being proud with an almost perfect record of 9 wins and 1 draw from 10 games played. The fact that Belgium finished on 9 points ahead of the 2nd Greece should tell you how dominant they were in their group.

Panama made history by qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in their history. This happened after Los Canaleros finished third in the 5th round of the qualifiers in the CONCACAF region. The most decisive moment was the last game of the campaign, when Panama hosted Costa Rica. The home team won the game with 2-1, after a dramatic late goal by Roman Torres just two minutes before the end. We can say that this was the most important goal in the whole history of the Panamian football. This goal allowed Panama to beat Honduras and USA for the third place in the group, which meant a direct qualification for the competition in Russia.

Panama’s squad is not impressive at all, when you look at it. They have some players who are signed to MLS clubs, while some other play in European teams, but certainly not at a top level. There ain’t any stars in this team, too. What they can offer in Russia is a team spirit and a lot of enthusiasm – the type of enthusiasm which the debutants always show.

Panama are currently managed by the 62-years old Colombian Hernan Dario Gomez. He’s a former manager of Colombia and Ecuador as well. He’s leading the Panamian national team since 2014, qualifying it for the World Cup for a first time in history.

These are our vip soccer bets for the World Cup 2018 match between Belgium and Panama in Group G. Good luck!
