Aston Villa qualified for the playoffs
Aston Villa managed to play in the playoffs and maintained hope for a direct promotion for the Premier League after defeating Leeds with a 1-0 win in a 43rd round of the Championship, the second level of English football. Lewis Graban, who played in Bournemouth’s Brentwood team, scored the only shot after a 29-minute header.
The victory guaranteed Aston Villa’s fourth place, and along with Fulham and Cardiff City, the team will fight for the second direct quota for the Premier League. Leader is Wolverhampton with 92 points, Fulham with 81, Cardiff City with 80 and Aston Villa with 79 points.
