AIK – Hacken

It’s time for Sweden’s Allsvenskan to start once again. In the first round of the new campaing, AIK hosts Häcken at the Friends Arena in Solna.

Last year AIK finished second in the league, losing the title to Malmö FF. Now the club from Solna is motivated to reach the top and they will try to start their now adventure in the Allsvenskan against Häcken at home.

As for Häcken, this team finished 10th last year. Häcken is not considered as one of the top teams in Swedish football, but we are still about to see what they are going to offer this season. Last year Häcken managed to win 11 games in the Allsvenskan and scored 58 goals in 30 games, so they are not really an outsider, too.

The last time AIK won the league in Sweden was in 2009, so now they will try once again to return to the top. The manager Rikard Norling is about to start his second season in Solna, which is also his second stunt as a manager in the club after the period between 2004 and 2008.

As for Häcken, this club doesn’t have any serious achievements in Swedish football. In 2012 they finished second in the league, which is their best performance to date. This is going to be a debut season in the club for the 41-years old manager Mikael “Micke” Stahre, who managed the Chinese Dalian Yifang before that. It’s curious that he has also managed AIK few years ago and he’s the last manager who led the club to the title in Allsvenskan in 2009.

We should expect an interesting clash between these two sides. AIK are motivated to win the league for a first time since 2009, while Häcken are hoping for a good season under the management of a proven tactician like Mikael Stahre.
